Godberd was quite a rebellious character. This entry cross references with a case dealt with in the 1262 Surrey Eyre Roll between Jordan and Roger over a plot of land at Swannington. Earlier Godberd had attacked Jordan and ejected him from his holdings. He was also involved in raids of venison in Sherwood Forest in c Aug 1264 with Reynold de Grey, Warin de Bassingburn and others whilst garrisoned at Nottingham Castle.

I have not seen the 1293 Godberd death entry so cannot confirm it? Brian said that he would send me a copy but never did. I have supplied him with all these entries and he said that he is going to update his book.

There is now no evidence that Godberd was active after 10 Dec 1266 until Mich 1270. You cannot take it that he was now, look at Baldwin Wake one of Eyvill's chief allies, came into the peace a month after Chesterfield, was pardoned and then no more evidence that he was a rebel in 1267 either.

William of Novo Burgo records the execution of Walter Devyas but surprisingly no mention of Godberd. I will post this entry sometime.
