It's okay. Very inconsistent and lots of continuity problems and plot holes. However, when it's good, it's very good. In series 1, I loved
"Dead Man Walking" and thought it stood head and shoulders above anything else in the first run, although I could watch "A Thing or Two About
Loyalty" repeatedly just for the Much and Eve scenes.
In series 2 the writing for the most part improved, and "Ducking and Diving" really stood out, primarily for Josie Lawrence's performance. But the writers/producers ruined everything they'd accomplished with the hideous finale. This failed on all points, as it negated any previous character development, had plot holes as wide and deep as the Grand Canyon, and ended in such a way that I'm not sure I want to watched series 3 when it comes.

Oh but you know they're going to bring Marian back. It was all just Robin or Guy's nightmare. ;-)

Oh but you know they're going to bring Marian back. It was all just Robin or Guy's nightmare. ;-) Actually, I think I was one of the first people to propose the dream theory. At first I was just kidding, but I've come to think it's the only way to explain a lot of the weirdness of the final episode. Frankly, I'd have no problem with a new actress playing Marian, especially if they reshot a few flashbacks with the new player. There's plenty of precedent for bringing a new actor into an established role, the most relevant being Patricia Driscoll taking over Marian from Bernadette O'Farrell in The Adventures.
