It looks like the old set of rules are gone and never to return. This doesn't mean anarchy, however.
The Blue Boar Inn is named for the tavern in classic children's book, The Merry Adventures of Robin Hood of Great Renown in Nottinghamshire by author/illustrator Howard Pyle. The inn shows up in other Robin Hood stories - most notably the 1950s TV series The Adventures of Robin Hood starring Richard Greene. This incarnation of the Blue Boar is attached to the website Robin Hood - Bold Outlaw of Barnsdale and Sherwood (www.boldoutlaw.com).
This is a message board devoted to Robin Hood studies. That includes the legend as represented in ballads, plays, poems, novels, films, television shows, bubblegum cards and well... pretty much everything else you can think of. It's also a place to talk about the history behind the legend, either historical outlaws that may have inspired the legend or just quirky bits of medieval history.
So, come and have fun. Be passionate and excited ... and even opinionated. But what I won't stand for are personal attacks. Go ahead and attack someone's ideas -- sure. But no family feuds. We've had some in the past, and I'd like to avoid them in the future.
If you want to talk about your experiences being possessed or vampire hunting ... well, there are other Robin Hood forums more suited to those sorts of topics. (Although feel free to mention Buffy if you like.)
I'm not going to be strict about sticking to topic. Feel free to wander if you like into other areas of discussion.
Excessive rudeness and posting get-rich-quick scams will get you booted.
That said, how about we raise a glass of Brown October Ale to Robin Hood.
