After so many movies made on our archer, including but not limited to Errol Flynn in "The Adventures of Robin Hood", Patrick Bergin all wild-eyed in 1990's "Robin Hood", and Kevin Costner (love or hate his performance), over the years I've nontheless been noting the strong points Robin Hood films.
While Errol Flynn was arguably the ideal and best Robin Hood, Bergin was also great and underappreciated. Costner should have had an accent of some sort, and by accent I don't mean a yank one.
Nonetheless, after watching Gerard Butler's amazing and brilliant performances in flims, including "300" and especially as the Phantom in ALW's "The Phantom of the Opera", I think Gerard is potentially an ideal Robin Hood and swashbuckler.
So, my question is to my mates here at the Blue Boar: If you were casting a movie for a future Robin Hood film, who would you chose to portray Robin?
Obviously my answer is Gerard Butler. What's yours?
