OK, so it's only distantly Robin Hood-related, in that Hereward the Wake was among the figures who've influenced the Robin Hood saga over the
centuries. But that's a good enough excuse.

Marcus, wow! I'm impressed. Looks like someone around here is destined to be a famous historian, eh? (That is, besides Mr. Henshaw.)
I'll have to check it out. |

Well, here's hoping, but if this makes me famous it won't be as an historian (should have made clear in the original post: it's a novel). The
thesis may yet take care of academic fame, if I ever finish the damn thing...

Marcus: Congratulations on your novel! What a great and in modern times underused subject to choose... I will look forward to obtaining this for myself....

Hi Marcus,
Just wanted to let you know I placed an order for your book today on Lulu... looking forward to receiving it. How's it making out for you? Presterjohn1 |

Thanks Prester John!
As a matter of fact I don't know how it's going, because for some reason Amazon sales aren't showing up in my Lulu account. It's not just that nobody's buying it, because I bought one through Amazon myself to test this and Lulu didn't record the sale. So the sales will remain a mystery until I get my next payment from Lulu. |

Hi Marcus... Just wanted to say I quite enjoyed your novel, finished it in just a couple of sittings. Very nice atmospheric and convincing portrayal of Norman
England. I liked the pagan/heathen elements you used, and I'm quite as glad that you didn't go over the top in that regard. Nice balance, and I will
be just as happy to buy the sequels. I posted a review on Lulu, where I certainly recommend it, noting only a few small quibbles. Well done! (And when's
the next one coming out???) - presterjohn1

Thanks! That's a great review overall, and I can't really argue with the handful of negative points you make. (If you have an Amazon account, I'd
be very grateful if you could copy that review to Amazon, where more people will see it.)
The next one should be out in the autumn, and the third some time next year. |

Hi Marcus. I tried to paste my review into Amazon but Amazon wouldn't let me because I didn't buy it through them... I purchased on Lulu.com. Sorry.

Damn, must be one of their new rules (like not being able to hide your name any more) - I never used to have trouble reviewing things I hadn't bought
there.
Thanks anyway. Would you mind if I pasted it to Amazon, with a "by permission" note making it clear it wasn't mine? |

Please do, Marcus... I'm sorry it wouldn't let me do it myself.... it might be a specific problem with the Canadian version of Amazon. |
