So I just joined this board and I thought I'd drop a line and say hello to everyone and introduce myself. I've been a fan of Robin Hood my whole life.
And I'm fairly well read on his adventures. And fairly passionate when it comes to discussions. All my friends are sick of me bantering in their ears about
legends and folk tales. So I thought I'd try and find a community where I could dish out everything without being taken for a complete nerd that knows way
to much about something not a whole heck of a lot of people in my circle is interested in.
Anyway, here I am, for better or worse, y'all can call me Kid. Cheers, K.Kid P.S. And for the record I started my tattoo before the BBC's new series even came out. |

Hello Kid. I like your web sites, you have been busy. There are some here who like to talk about films and other boring people who talk about even more boring
historical stuff.
Anyway enjoy and chat away. I'm one of the boring ones by the way. Bye. Graham.

I'm a bit of both. I'm not exactly a historian, but I do have a job that required a lot of knowledge on a particular subject in history. Then I'm
more of a learn on your own kind of gal. I like some of the Robin Hood movies, and the new tv show is okay, but I'm more into the books written about him.
I'm always on the lookout for something I haven't read yet.

Welcome Kid,
will you be coming to the Robin Hood Festival? Have you read "Robin Hood and other outlaw Tales," by Stephen Knight and Thomas Ohlgren. Graham swears by 'Robin Hood,' by Prof James Holt.' I'm totally biased to "The Quest for Robin Hood" by my late uncle, Jim Lees. Fictionwise, Howard Pyle's 'Robin Hood' is popular. Ivanhoe, by Sir Walter Scott. Like Graham says, chat away. I'm Robert, fortunate enough to live in Nottinghamshire, twenty minutes by car to Sherwood Forest, bit longer when we hitch the horses into the trailer and ride round that ancient woodland. Sad eh? |

Welcome to the Blue Boar, Kid! You're definitely in the right place to discuss all things Robin Hood related - be it historical relevancy,
Robin Hood in pop culture, folklore, etc.
Just a little warning, though: some around here can get into really heated debates on the "real" Robin Hood and his origin. Whatever you do, don't mention Lincoln green or you'll be accused of saying Robin Hood was from Lincoln. We are all Robin Hood geeks here, so basically anything "Robin Hood" goes!

I always thought Robin Hood was from Lincoln? That's right. Lincoln, Nebraska, USA! [wink]

Hi Kid, welcome to the topsy-turvy world of the 'Greenwood' where nothing really matters apart from enjoying the cameraderie of fellow Robin Hood
enthusiasts and evading the wrath of the 'historicalist' sheriffs. Long may you dwell within this sylvan retreat and 'chill' in the verdant
foliage. Robin Hood forever.
