I have come across this entry which is intriguing. It is a list of amercements,fines eminating from the Eyre in Lincoln of 1202 for transgressions. The entry at the bottom is intriguing. Gamelyn was a diminutive of Gamel. This entry is mentioning Gamel's men and some offence which they have committed and to which Gilbert Skauler is acting as surety for the amercement along with the other two as his pledges. Interesting because the tale of Gamelyn is supposed to have originated in Lincolnshire. I wonder who this Gamel was? There is no further mention of him.
