If you don't have it already, I would recommend you purchase Robin Hood: a Classic Illustrated Edition. It includes illustrations from various artists including N. C. Wyeth, Walter Crane, Howard Pyle and many others. The text is by E. Charles Vivian. One illustration in particular which I like is on page 143 by Italian artist Francesco Hayez. The first Robin Hood book I read was a first edition copy of "Robin Hood" by J. Walker McSpadden. Haven't bought the version with art by Greg Hildebrandt as I'm saddened the book is abridged.
