Lady Archer,

If you don't have it already, I would recommend you purchase Robin Hood: a Classic Illustrated Edition. It
includes illustrations from various artists including N. C. Wyeth, Walter Crane, Howard Pyle and many others. The text is by E. Charles Vivian. One
illustration in particular which I like is on page 143 by Italian artist Francesco Hayez. The acknowledgments page refers to it as Maid...

Hello. Haven't been on this board for quite some time. Doubt anyone remembers me, but this subject wasn't something I couldn't pass up as it
combines two things I love.

The first Robin Hood book I read was a first edition copy of "Robin Hood" by J. Walker McSpadden. Haven't bought the version with art by Greg
Hildebrandt as I'm saddened the book is abridged.
I discovered N.C. Wyeth in high school and fell in love with this Robin Hood right...

Some years ago an American Robin Hood enthusiast, Mark Warren, came to Nottingham and I showed him around the local sites associated with the legend. On
leaving he gave me a poster of Robin Hood by N.C.Wyth. It is an illustration from the book, 'Robin Hood' by Paul Creswick. I love it: it is dark and
brooding, with Robin Hood as I imagine him to have looked like.
