im actually going to visit robin hoods grave this summer. hes is the only one ive not done. cant wait. didnt richard rutherford-moore say in one of his books that human remains believed to be male were found on the kirklees estate. i find it interesting that robin who never hurt women met his end by one! great story. shame hollywood ever used it in any films.

The ballads mention Robin Hood was murdered by the Prioress of Kirklees, who is thought to be a woman by the name of Elizabeth de Staynton (at least, according to Joseph Hunter).

Do scholars believe that this is how Robin really met his demise? If not by Elizabeth de Staynton, then who was the Prioress that murdered Robin Hood?
